News and Announcements for the week of May 27th UnfiledIt is hard to believe but after today we are down to just 10 days of school. The school year always goes by very fast. This will be my last website update. I will be very sad to see these two classes leave. They are smart and very well behaved. I had a lot of fun teaching them this year. I am very proud of all their accomplishments. They have done a great job. I hope everyone has a great summer vacation! Please continue to read and practice math facts over the summer. If students will read and practice their math facts, fourth grade will be an easy transition. Enjoy your summer!

We have made it half way through track and field and the kids are having fun. After this week we have just 12 more days of school. It is hard to believe it will be over before we now it. I will really miss both my classes this year.

May will be over before we know it and summer is just around the corner. I want to send out a HUGE thank you to the moms who helped decorate the plum commons for MARE. The school is alive with lots of different activities. This can be a very busy time of the year.

The kids have worked hard all year and are ready to take the STAAR test. We will be testing on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of the week we will relax and take it a little easy.

Spring is here and I am loving the rain! We are down to the last 2 months of school. I am amazed at how fast the year flies by. We will be very busy the next few weeks and May is filled with lots of fun activities from track and field, one last field trip as well as our class party. Spring Break will be here in just 2 days. The kids are excited and I think the teachers are ready for a break. This Friday will be Arts Day! It is a fun way Patton kicks off Spring Break! Please make sure your child brings a sack lunch to school that day. We will eat lunch in the classroom. We have a lot of important dates coming up so please mark your calendar.

February is about half way over and we are very busy. We spent this week learning about polygons, triangles and quadilaterals. we completed a line and angle project. In small group we have been reviewing how to subtract with regrouping. Some of the kids have forgotten how to regroup. Please keep reading and practicing math facts nightly. IXL is a great website for math. The kids love it and I get sent a weekly report.

January is over and it will be Spring break before we know it. The Spring is an exciting time in third grade but we still have lots of work to do. Please make sure your child is reading and practicing math facts nightly. IxL is a great math website for practicing all the skills we learn in 3rd grade. Please have your child use it at home. We are very lucky to have it.

What a great day we had Friday! Our field trip to Natural Bridge Caverns was great. All of the kids had a great time and we got lots of exercise. Last week was very busy but this week should be calmer. I want to thank all the parents who drove us on our field trip. You helped make this field trip possible and fun!
