The Middle School Task force consists of 29 people who collectively reflect the values and perspectives of the Austin Independent School District. The membership composition includes community members, parents, teachers and administrators. The Task Force gathered district data, which is provided for review on the Middle Level Education Plan Initiative web page.

The Task Force met on January 29th, 30th, and 31st. In this meeting, the committee members identified strengths and opportunities for improvement for middle schools in AISD, and conducted an internal and external analysis to determine competitive and critical issues to be addressed. The Task Force collaboratively developed a draft of Belief Statements, a Mission Statement, Strategic Parameters, Objectives and Strategies. These documents will remain as a draft, until Board Approval is accepted.
