A Message from the Principal
Parents/Guardians and Students:
September 28, 2009 - Flu Shot Clinic- October 12
I wanted to report that we had a great Homecoming Dance on Saturday! After a disappointing loss in our Homecoming game to Akins on Friday night, we were worried that the students would be less excited about attending the dance on Saturday. We didn't have to be too concerned as over 1200 students showed up for the Homecoming Dance at the Hyatt. The students were lined up when the doors opened and they stayed until midnight. Students danced, ate wonderful chocolate covered strawberries and mini-cakes, visited with friends in all grade levels and basically seemed to have a great evening. It was a lot of fun for the chaparones, as well. It was great to see how beautiful they all looked in their stylish attire and it was a pleasure to be with them as they were courteous, polite, and grateful for the work of their teachers and parents to make the event a night to remember. All in all, it was a fabulous evening for all.
I wanted to congratulate the volleyball team on their win on Friday night in three straight sets against Akins. The girls are really on a roll and they seem to be having more fun than I have seen them have in quite some time. Congratulations to the teams, coaches, and managers. They are a small, but mighty group. We will be sending home a flier/consent form on Monday about a student/parent flu-shot clinic that we will be hosting at Anderson High School on October 12th from 12:30 - 2:30. Our very own Sharon Kerr will be the nurse administering the flu vaccine and we encourage all students and parents who have not received their flu shots (seasonal flu, not H1N1) to come to Anderson to receive their shots before flu season.
