Mission Statement

Wooten educators, parents and community members will create a nurturing and safe environment so that students become responsible, life-long learners who reach their highest potential. Wooten’s Dual Language Program provides an enriched course of study that develops bilingualism, biculturalism, and bi-literacy so that our students will be academically prepared for college and careers. All our students are challenged to develop their intelligence and their academic skills by engaging in rigorous tasks that challenge them to think and actively apply their learning. It is a process that promotes the physical, mental and emotional development of our students as life-long learners.

School Goals

Wooten students will demonstrate gains in academic achievement as documented by the individual Texas Learning Index and Austin Independent School District standards.
The climate of Wooten Elementary School will become more positive and inclusive for all students, staff, parents, and community members.
The Extended Year Program will immediately reduce and ultimately eliminate student retention.
