Mission Statement

Oak Hill Elementary School facilitates assessment driven instruction that prepares each child for life and challenges every child to achieve through active learning that is connected to real world experiences.

School Goals

Student Performance will improve in reading, writing, and math. All students and teachers will demonstrate competencies in using available technology. Teachers and staff will promote and enhance responsible decision-making and self-esteem in all students.

Major Programs and Initiatives

OHE has many opportunities for students, teachers, and parents to become involved. With the support of our dedicated PTA and volunteers, the OHE students have access to many learning opportunities this year. Students may benefit from SOARING, Reading Rangers, Literacy Specialists, Young at Heart, Take Flight, Lego Robotics, Gardening Club, and academic tutoring either during Individual Instruction Time (IIT) or after school. We will continue to challenge our students and not only prepare them for the state assessment, STAAR, but we also prepare them to be successful in life. This can be seen through our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum, Second Step. The Student Council is another opportunity for students to learn about each other as well as the community and nation around them through their service projects with the Oak Hill Rotary, Early Act Program.

OHE is fortunate to have not only the PTA but also many other Corporate Sponsors that support the school both financially and through volunteer hours. On any given day, it is typical to see volunteers tutoring students, helping teachers in the classroom, or working behind the scenes to ensure that each student at OHE is learning. Because of the diversity of students, the OHE community works hard to accept all families and to appreciate the differences. At most Friday assemblies, the school learns about these different cultures through our Flag Culture Program.

OHE is an exceptional school that puts the learning of students first. The teachers are passionate and understand the importance of making each student feel welcome.
