Mission Statement
Govalle students, teachers, and parents are committed to ensuring academic success for all students so that they may become productive members of society.
School Goals
Teach the basic skills in all the curriculum areas; provide students with a quality educational program that encourages the acquisition, exchange and application of ideas. Essential to this goal is a school atmosphere conducive to learning and free of disruptions. It provides opportunities and experiences for students to develop responsibility, skills in democracy, decision making skills, human relation skills, and positive self-image.
Create an honest, open-door communications procedure for the entire community, including students, parents, staff and community leaders.
Establish a climate of mutual respect and dignity among students, students and teachers, school and administration and school and community.
Organize teaching teams so that curricular changes respond to the needs of students in a realistic manner.
Strive to encourage students to expand their knowledge in as many different facets of life as they will.
These goals are carried out within the curriculum framework approved by the Board of Trustees of the Austin Independent School District and under the accreditation standards of the State of Texas through the Texas Education Agency.
