Rosedale Offers March Special Education Program
March 2, 2010 - A parent training session for special education families is planned for this month. The Family Support Cooperative will be Tuesday, March 9,, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rosedale School, located at 2117 W. 49th Street. Free childcare and pizza will be provided beginning at 6:30 p.m. Spanish translators and interpreters for the hearing impaired will also be available.
That night’s session will include:
  • Sibling Group: For Siblings of children with disabilities
  • ADD/ADHD: Support and information for families of children/adults with ADD/ADHD (CHADD)
  • From the Heart: Open group for parents and caregivers
  • Parents Speak up: Share your Ideas about the ARD Process
  • Legal issues: A panel of experts on guardianship and estate planning
  • Literacy in the Life Skills Classroom
  • Toilet Training: How to Get Started and Maintain a Program
  • The ACCESS Program: A System that promotes positive Mental Health
  • Reading the signs: When Your Child is about to Explode
  • SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression).
 
 
These sessions are a cooperative effort between AISD, Austin Travis County Integral Care, and The Arc of the Capital Area, and are designed for parents, siblings, caregivers, educators and others.
