Hispanic Futures Conference Planned for December 5
November 19, 2009 - The next Hispanic Futures Conference, sponsored by the AISD Department of Diversity and Intercultural Relations, will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, at Travis High School, located at 1211 East Oltorf Street.
The conference will feature a Plenary Session with principals from J.J .Pickle Elementary, Sanchez Elementary, Webb Middle School, Paredes Middle School, The Liberal Arts and Science Academy at LBJ High School, and Travis High School.
The Burger King Foundation and IBM are supporters of this conference, and will donate gifts, food, and other resources for students. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided.
The conference, for students and parents, will also feature bilingual workshops, exhibits and door prizes. Topics for the day will include:
