January 5, 2011 - The Austin School District’s Department of Advanced Academic Services will sponsor a presentation on the unique needs of highly gifted children, and ways parents can support them at home and in school.

The presentation will be held on Wednesday, January 12, from 6:15-8 p.m. at Highland Park Elementary School, 4900 Fairview.  
 
Highly Gifted Children: A Population at Risk will be presented by Dr. Linda Silverman, director of the Gifted Development Center in Denver, Colorado.  
 
Parents may call Advanced Academic Services at 414-9986 with any questions. The session is free to AISD parents and registration is not required.
