During the week of May 2-6, students, supervisors, parents, and volunteers will honor more than 6,000 teachers in the District for the incredible work that they do for the children of Austin and for our community. This year, as part of the Bravo! AISD Employee Appreciation Program, we have once again successfully partnered with Austin businesses, including theaters, restaurants, and retailers, among others, for their support and participation in recognizing our teachers.

Teacher recognition activities and events include:

• Discounts and special offers for teachers at many area businesses listed here.
  
  
• On May 3, National Teacher Day, the superintendent will visit schools to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week;
• Teachers of the Year banners will be posted on the AISD website;
  
  
• In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, you can send a shout out to your favorite teacher, staff member or read what others have written.
  
  
• Throughout the week, AISD teachers will also have a chance to win prizes from restaurants, retailers, theaters, spas, and much more. As an AISD Teacher your name will be automatically included in the daily gift opportunity. The lucky winners will be emailed directly and announced via AISD Twitter and on Channel 22. • Teachers will receive a special e-notice from the Superintendent, AISD employees will receive an e-notice with tips on how to honor teachers, and ACPTA members, Chambers of Commerce, and members of the DAC and AISD UpClose class will receive an e-notice encouraging them to honor AISD teachers
• "Thank you AISD Teachers" messages will be posted on sports stadium marquees and Channel 22;
• Business sponsors will display a poster in store windows in recognition of our teachers. Download poster in English, Spanish;
• Teachers of Promise will be honored at a reception on May 10 at 5pm at the Delco Center;
• Our season of teacher recognition will culminate on May 18, at the annual Salute Awards event (Facilitated by Austin Partners in Education and hosted by the City of Austin), with the announcement of the AISD Teacher of the Year. Learn more at http://www.austinpartners.org/salute.
