Some environmental and sustainable items being considered are: on-site detention, sedimentation and filtration, window tint, window overhangs, high mass wall construction, light colored exterior finishes, use of low VOC (Volatile organic Compound) materials, high efficiency equipment, energy management system, high efficiency lighting system, lighting controls, use of aerators on fixtures, and building commissioning. In order to compensate for increase of impervious cover, due to classroom addition and parking, AISD is meeting with the City of Austin to determine a mutually agreed upon strategy to meet impervious cover requirements for the site. |
