2004 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Improve storm/site drainage at building perimeter
• Repair/replace standing seam metal roof in various locations
• Repair/replace overhead rolling grille at cafeteria
• Repair/replace two sectional gates at the large gym
• Create a second art room and two other instructional areas from existing space
• Install additional acoustical panels in band practice rooms
• Replace theater sound and lighting control systems
• Install additional casework in various locations
• Replace deteriorated door hardware at library
• Replace worn floor covering in various locations
• Refurbish/replace student lockers
• Renovate/refurbish student toilets
• Create faculty restroom from existing space
• Repair/replace/modify selected ventilation system equipment
• Install safety and security enhancements

• Technology upgrades
• Replace heating, ventilation and sir conditioning system equipment in large gym, career education building and computer lab
• Install automatic power factor correction and harmonic distortion mitigation system

Re-grade portions of site to improve drainage away from building on north and south sides and repave courtyard; renovate/refurbish student toilets; replace deteriorated door hardware at library; repair/replace overhead rolling grill at cafeteria; repair/replace two sectional gates at large gym; subdivide room C2 to create a second art room; replace worn floor covering in band practice rooms, orchestra, choir and library; install shelving in room 215; install additional acoustical panels in band practice rooms; refurbish/replace student lockers; convert portion of second floor teachers’ workroom into a faculty toilet; replace theater sound and lighting control systems; install trophy case in area of band hall; subdivide content mastery room to create two rooms; replace heating boiler and heat exchanger; replace two deteriorated heat pumps; insulate closed loop water lines serving heat pumps in the 100-classroom wing. Complete. Within budget.* Grouped with Bailey Middle School. All architectural renovations and materials used will conform to local, state and federal regulations with respect to environmental compliance.

Roofing repair. Reroll existing standing seams on roof, replace ridge cap, repair downspouts and gutters and add roof ladder. Complete. Under budget.* New replacement roof system will provide increased thermal efficiency and solar reflectivity.
Install drainage system to receive water from drainage downspout and divert water away from building. Complete. Under budget. Funded with 2002 bond funds.*
Kitchen hood fire suppression replacement. Complete. Under budget.*
Safety and security: card reader door access. Complete. Within budget.*
Safety and security: closed circuit TV. Complete. Within budget.*
Replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning system equipment at large gm, career education building and computer lab. Complete. Under budget.* Grouped with work at Kiker Elementary School. A delay in equipment delivery caused the existing HVAC equipment in the Career Ed. Bldg. to remain operational until it could be replaced in October 2010. The gym heating, ventilation and air conditioning work was completed in December 2010. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment will be high efficiency and meet or exceed latest energy standards (ASHRAE 90.1, 2001).
Repair/replace cafeteria and theater heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Complete. Over budget.* Grouped with Bowie High School.
South alternative education learning support centers. Complete. Grouped with 15 other schools.
Repair/replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Substantially complete. Grouped with projects at Doss and Oak Hill elementary schools.

*Budget for the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs are reported as both individual project budgets and overall program budget. While specific projects may be over or under budget, the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs remain well within the total program budget.
