Science classroom casework. Complete. Under budget.* Construction Management worked with science department chairs to establish science classroom renovations program as district-wide standard so that renovations to older facilities will be consistent district-wide.
Science classroom ventilation. Provide modifications to chemistry rooms return air and prep room exhaust for better ventilation. Complete. Under budget.* Ventilation system accelerated from science classroom renovations for construction summer 2005. Primarily ventilation safety items. Modified ventilation systems will provide improvement in indoor air quality.
Improve storm/site drainage. Make modifications as required to provide accessibility compliant exterior route. Complete. Within budget.* Focus of work to eliminate water intrusion into crawlspaces, provide ventilation of crawlspaces.
Safety and security: card reader door access. Complete. Within budget.*

Phase I: Replace flooring and provide risers in choir room, renovate/refurbish student restrooms, replace ventilation system chilled/heated water pumps, install emergency egress lighting, replace dishwasher in kitchen. Phase II: Site and structural work for science classroom addition. Phase III: Install additional exterior lighting and construct five-science classroom addition. Phase IV: Replace bleachers, improve storm/site drainage at cafeteria, refurbish/replace third floor ventilation air conditioning units, replace selected library casework/cabinetry/furnishings, expand library reading room, and acquire science safety equipment. The construction/installation of a dry fire hydrant that can be connected to Lady Bird Lake and used by the Austin fire Department for Southern portions of the campus was completed during the summer of 2011. New construction and major building system renovations to be designed to meet or exceed Austin Energy Green Building two-star rating.
