The Austin Independant School District is working with Austin Energy and other partner organizations to install solar panels on many elementary, middle and high school campuses. Each solar panel is collecting data that is available for teacher use and all programs, trainings, and curriculum are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Collected data can be accessed at http://www.soltrex.com/ . Installation of solar panels is expected to be complete by December 2011.
