All teams registered in the area basketball tournament must attend basketball classifications on Saturday, February 19, 2012 at the Dell Jewish Center. Currently 5 on 5 teams must plan on attending; 3 on 3 and individual skills athletes will NOT need to attend.

Basketball Competition

Date: February 24, 2012 - February 25, 2012

The Special Olympics Texas - Central Texas Area Basketball Competition is an area-wide competition for athletes in the Central Texas area.

This event is tentatively scheduled as a two-day competition, February 24-25, 2012. The start and end time will be determined by the number of teams/athletes that enter the competition. This information will be updated in weeks leading up to the competition.

Athletes have the opportunity to participate in the following events: Individual Skills, Team Skills, 3 on 3, 5 on 5, and Unified Sports teams.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Medical Support, Souvenirs, Security, Athlete Meals, Opening Ceremonies, Families Area, Volunteer Registration, Awards, Equipment, Time Keepers, Scorekeepers, Court Monitors, Gym Monitors and Basketball Officials.

Gymnastics Competition

The Special Olympics Texas - Central Texas Area Gymnastics Competition is an area-wide competition.

The start time and end time will be determined by the number of teams/athletes that enter the competition. This information will be updated in weeks leading up to the competition.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Help set-up and breakdown the facility; assist with judging, scoring, results and awards.

The Special Olympics Texas - Central Texas Area Spring Games is an area-wide competition for athletes/teams in the Central Texas area.

Deadline for Medicals: March 15 by 5:00 p.m.
Deadline for Delegation and Athlete Entries: March 22 by 5:00 p.m.

The Games are scheduled as a two-day competition, April 27-28. The start time and end time will be determined by the number of teams/athletes that enter the competition. This information will be updated in weeks leading up to the competition.

State Competition

2012 Winter Games

Date: February 9, 2012 - February 12, 2012

The 2012 Winter Games will be back in Austin, February 9-12, 2012. Sports offered will include bowling, figure skating, speed skating, table tennis, powerlifting and volleyball. The three-day event will also offer special events including Opening Ceremonies, Victory Dance and Athlete Village.
