Supplemental Educational Services

Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are academic tutoring opportunities outside of regular school day instruction. Parents can choose the tutoring provider, subjects, and location of services from the enrollment options. These services, offered at no cost to the parent, are of high quality and are specifically designed to increase student academic achievement.

Any Title I campus in Stages 2-5 of mandated School Improvement must offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to all students from low-income families. In school year 2011-2012, there are no schools in school improvement. The district has 5 schools with TTIPS grants. These campuses will provide SES services to identified students.

If the number of students requesting SES exceeds the amount of money a district has available for SES, the district will give priority to the lowest-achieving students by establishing fair and equitable identifying criteria.

  • SES enrollment for school year 2011/2012 opens on September 21, 2011 and closes December 1, 2011.
  • Eligible schools for school year 2011/2012 are Lanier, Reagan and Travis High Schools, and Martin and Burnet Middle Schools only.
  • Parents of eligible students who wish to enroll their child in SES must choose a tutoring provider from the list of approved providers.
