Texas Grant Program - In the summer of 1999, the Texas Legislature passed into law the Toward EXcellence, Access, and Success or TEXAS Grant Program.  This intent of this legislation is to provide grants (money that does not have to be repaid) to enable well-prepared, eligible students to attend public or private nonprofit institutions of higher education in Texas. In order to be eligible to receive the TEXAS Grant the student and parent must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
