The mission of the Office of Academics is to develop and systematically support high quality, rigorous curriculum, programs and resources for school communities through collaboratively planning, communicating clearly roles and expectations, and building capacity for professional learning so that each and every student is college, career and life ready for global citizenship.

Our Vision

We envision a district that is nationally recognized for the development of high-quality, rigorous core curriculum as well as for the leadership of special programs whose collective energy and resources are directed toward the unique and diverse learning needs that lead to high levels of academic achievement, social-emotional development, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the success of each and every student.

Our Connection to the Strategic Plan

The Office of Academics will provide support for AISD's Strategic Plan particularly focusing on providing a high quality, well-rounded educational experience to all students that is rigorous, culturally relevant, healthful, and engaging (Strategy 1). The divisions and departments in the Office of Academics will work productively and collaboratively to provide the curriculum and to identify the tools, resources, and evidence-based practices to facilitate equitable access to rigorous instructional programs for all students that leads to college, life and work readiness. The Office of Academics will also provide on-going support to district stakeholders that ensures that each and every student will perform at or above grade level and that achievement gaps will be eliminated.
